Who is your customer?

Greyfound Design specializes in full-service marketing and branding solutions for orthotic and prosthetic healthcare providers. We have developed a thorough understanding of the marketing needs of orthotic and prosthetic healthcare providers over the past decade, and currently work with more than 20 orthotic and prosthetic healthcare clinics in all regions of the United States.

Recently, one of our orthotic and prosthetic healthcare clients engaged Greyfound Design to develop a digital marketing campaign. While digging in with our client about the goals of their digital marketing campaign, a simple question was raised - who is your customer?

While this may seem like an easy question for any business owner, it may warrant more thought than you would expect. In the case of this client, their primary source of new patients had historically been referrals from other healthcare providers. Therefore, their marketing strategy focused on establishing relationships and trust with these healthcare providers. However, as we dug deeper, we learned that more and more patients in the orthotic and prosthetic healthcare space were conducting their own independent research on the best provider for them. This research was primarily taking place on the internet. This has made website design, reviews management, and social media more important than ever for providers in the orthotic and prosthetic healthcare space. Even further, we learned that friends and family of patients in need of orthotic and prosthetic healthcare services were assisting them in this research - and more than 15% of inquiries from new patients were initiated by friends and family, supporting their loved one. In this case, our client had more than one "customer."

Armed with this knowledge - we developed a successful digital marketing campaign for our client that produced tremendous results and a more than 500% return on ad spend.

As you seek to develop your marketing and branding, it is always worthwhile to take time to ask - who is your customer?
